EFFECTIVENESS OF NUTRITIONAL INTERVENTIONS IN NUTRITIONAL CONSULTATION PATIENTS AT NATIONAL HOSPITAL FOR TROPICAL DISEASES IN 2019-2020

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional interventions on nutritional status of patients with nutritional consultation at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in 2019-2020.


Subjects and methods: Prospective cross sectional study was conducted on 57 nutritional intervened patients.


Results and conclusions: After nutritional intervention, 52.6% patients gained weight while 38.6% and 8.8% patients lost and stabilized weight respectively. The rate of chronic energy deficiency (CED) patient before and after intervention were 54.4% and 52.6% respectively. The rate of CED level 2 and 3 was observed the big decline from 47.4% to 29.8%. Mean Albumin index of patients increase to compare with pre-intervention (33.7 ± 5.2 g/l versus 32.7% ± 5.8 g/l), p < 0.05.
