SITUATION OF SEPSIS AND FINDING SOME PROGNOSIS FACTORS AT THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IN NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF TROPICAL DISEASES

Abstract
Objectives: To study the situation of Sepsis and find out some prognostic factors at the emergency department in National Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
Subjects and Methods: A prospective observational study describing 90 patients diagnosed at the emergency department in National Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
Results: The average age was 56.7 years, the percentage of men was 72%, and 80% of the patients had comorbidities. The mortality rate of patients diagnosed with Sepsis was 42.2%. The positive blood culture rate was 35.6%. Some factors related to the prognosis of Sepsis in the Emergency Department : comorbidities Cirrhosis, Glasgow score ≥ 12, SOFA in the first 24 hours after admission to the Emergency Department, Albumin reduction, Organ failure > 4 At the first 24 hours after admission to the Emergency Department, AST ≥40 IU/l, Creatinine ≥120 µmol/l, PaO2/FiO2<200, Lactate > 1 mmol/l.
Conclusion: Some of the prognostic factors of death in Sepsis patients that need attention are comorbidities cirrhosis , Glasgow score < 12 points, SOFA score, Albumin reduction; The number of organ failure was greater than 4 at the first 24 h of admission to the emergency department.
