Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to describe clinical manifestations and laboratory tests of COVID-19 pneumonia patients treated at National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Subjects and methods: We conducted a cross - sectional description of 173 COVID-19 pneumonia patients.
Results: Common symptoms of COVID-19 pneumonia were cough (88.4%), fever (78.0%), sputum (24.9%) fatigue (41.0%), dyspnea (27.2%), sore throat (37%), diarrhea (24.3%). In severe pneumonia, the proportion of patients with fever, dyspnea, and fatigue were significantly higher than in non - severe pneumonia (p < 0.05); The number of CD4 cells, red blood cells and the percentage of lymphocytes were significantly lower, whereas AST, CRP, LDH, Ferritin, D - dimer were significantly increased compared to non - severe pneumonia. Most of the lung CT lesions were found in multiple lung lobes (81.5%) focusing mainly on the lower lobes of the lungs on both sides with the common images being ground - glass opacities (68.2%) and thick interstitial tissue (41%). There is a statistically significant difference in the number of damaged lung lobes between the two groups of patients.
