Abstract

Objective:  To determine the distribution characteristics and antibiotic resistance of some Enterobacteriaceae strains isolated at E Hospital in the period 2018-2020.

Subjects and methods: Microbiological data of Enterobacteriaceae strains isolated at the microbiology department of E Hospital from January 2018 to December 2020. This is a cross-sectional study.

Results and conclusions: 996 strains of Enterobacteriaceae were isolated. E.coli accounted for the highest rate of 53.0%, followed by K. pneumoniae 37.2%. E.coli and K. pneumoniae were the main pathogens isolated in most departments. E.coli produced ESBL 53.4% and K. pneumonia produced ESBL 29.9%. This bacterium is highly resistant to cephalosporins and quinolones. E. coli carbapenme sensitivity rate (89.0% - 91.5%); K. pneumoniae (64.8% - 67.8%); Enterobacter (46.5% - 59.1%). Most strains of Enterobacteriaceae are multi-resistant. The rate of extended resistance of E. coli was 22.9% and K. pneumonia was 29.4%.
