DISCRIPTION OF PATIENT CHARACTERISTICS WITH TB/HIV-AIDS TREATED IN NHAN AI HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: Description of characteristics of tuberculosis and its relation to treatment failure in patients with TB/HIV-AIDS in hospitals of compassionate from 2008 - 2010. Subjects and methods: cross - sectional study, a sample of 542 patients with TB/HIV-AIDS at Nhanai Hospital in 2008 - 2010, the TB bacteria is determined by Ziehl - Neelsen technique. Results and conclusions: Among 542 patients with TB/HIV-AIDS accounted for 87.6% male, 25 - 43 years old age group accounted for 69.4, the average age of men and women equal (29.9 and 30.3 years old), the risk of HIV infection among drug addicts accounted for 83.3%. TB has AFB(+) accounted 85.4%, accounting for 72.3% new TB, T-CD4 count < 100/mm3 of blood occupied 61.4%, with 83% using Cotrimoxazol prevention, with 59% using ART. The relationship between TB treatment failure compared with age ≥ 35 years of age, HIV risk group, according to the T-CD4 count had significantly (p < 0.05). This study had identified a number of factors related to treatment failure and death in patients with HIV/AIDS TB in 2008 - 2010.
