Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic had a great impact on the world economy and the Vietnamese economy; in which public hospitals are public non - business units with revenues, financial autonomy is affected greatly reducing the hospital's revenue. Many hospitals have to cut costs and even cut medical staff's income to ensure financial balance. For the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases as a front - line unit, the whole operation of the hospital focuses on epidemic prevention, and medical examination and treatment has been severely affected, and the hospital fee revenues have decreased, almost no; Meanwhile, activities for epidemic prevention need a lot of financial resources for the purchase of stropping, materials and equipment for epidemic prevention. Through the article, the author analyzes the impact of the covid-19 epidemic on the hospital's financial performance and thereby recommends a number of immediate solutions for the State to support public hospitals and Hospitals need to have solutions to save costs, increase revenue and stabilize incomes for medical staff. In the long term, the State needs to develop a specific mechanism for the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases and the hospital needs to reorganize separate subdivisions in anti - epidemic activities to ensure both anti - epidemic and medical examination and treatment activities. regularly, develop revenue sources for the Hospital to operate stably and sustainably.
