Abstract

Post COVID-19 Syndrome (PCS) is a complex of various persistent symptoms increasingly experiencing long-term health consequences. A longitudinal study was conducted in The National hospital for tropical diseases to describe COVID-19 symptoms by time. A sample of 166 mild and moderate COVID-19 inpatients treated from August 2021 to January 2022, was selected. Patients’ symptoms at admission and discharge were extracted from medical records. Data collectors interviewed the patients by telephone 3 month after the discharge.  The mean age was 43.5 years, 58.4% were females, and about 52.4% of inpatients had lung complications. Cough (50.0%), sore throat (29.5%), shortness of breath (27.1%), and fatigue (31.9%) were the most frequent at 3 months follow-up. In conclusion, the most common symptoms of PCS were respiratory groups and decreased over time. The health staff should advise the COVID-19 patients about symptoms, health status, and rehabilitation at discharging.
