THE SITUATION OF HBV, HCV AND HIV INFECTIONS IN THE METHADONE TREATMENT PATIENTS AT BAC NINH PROVINCE'S DISEASE CONTROL CENTER (2020)

Abstract
Objectives: 1- Describe the current status of hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV infection in patients receiving Methadone treatment at CDC Bac Ninh 2020. 2- Factors related to the possibility of hepatitis B and C infection and HIV in patients receiving methadone treatment at the Bac Ninh CDC in 2020.
Subjects and methods: The study was conducted on 190 medical records out of a total of 369 medical records of patients aged 18 years and older, receiving methadone treatment at facility Bac Ninh Province Center for Disease Control, the duration of this study is from March to August 2020. A cross-sectional
descriptive study.
Results and conclusions: The average age of the subjects in the study was relatively high (40 years old). The average time of patients using Heroin is relatively long (14.7 years); long injecting time (11.7 years; 77.4% of study subjects are injecting drug addicts; the rate of sharing needles is 4.2%). HIV infection rate in this study was 7.4%; hepatitis B infection rate is 7.9%; hepatitis C infection rate is very high 54.2%; HIV/ HCV co-infection rate 5.8%; HIV/HBV/HCV co-infection accounted for 4.7%. Some factors affecting the possibility of hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV infection in patients receiving Methadone treatment in Bac Ninh in 2020 are as follows: There is a relationship between injection time and hepatitis infection rate. B and C. The longer the injection period, the higher the prevalence of HBV and HCV infection . There was a relationship between the frequent use of condoms during sex and the hepatitis C infection status of the study subjects. Not using condoms regularly, the rate of hepatitis C infection is higher, this difference is statistically significant with p < 0.05; OR = 2.88.
