CLINICAL FEATURES, PARACLINICAL FINDINGS, AND HISTOPATHOLOGY OF PATIENTS WITH HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA HAD SURGERY AT NATIONAL HOSPITAL FOR TROPICAL DISEASES

Abstract
Objectives: Describe the clinical features, paraclinical findings, and histopathological structure of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who had surgery at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in 2023.
Subjects and method: A prospective cross-sectional study on 45 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who were treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases from January 2023 to October 2023.
Results: 88.9% of male patients, the mean age was 55. 86.7% of patients had a medical history of chronic hepatitis B. The main clinical features were fatigue (95.5%), anorexia (95.5%), right hypochondriac pain (57.8%), hyperpigmentation (44.4%) and vascular asterisks (33.3%). AFP and PIVKA-II values were widely variable with mean values of 39.1 ng/mL and 74.35 mAU/mL, respectively. The histopathological structure of hepatocellular carcinoma is mainly raft (80%).
Conclusions: Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma are mainly male, the mean age is 55 and the majority have a medical history of chronic hepatitis B. The main clinical features were fatigue, anorexia, and right hypochondriac pain. AFP and PIVKA-II values were widely variable. the histopathological structure is mainly raft.
