HPV PREVALENCE AND RISK BEHAVIORS AMONG FEMALE SEX WORKERS IN HA NOI AND HO CHI MINH CITY IN 2018

Abstract
A cross-sectional study was conducted among 700 female sex workers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city in 2018 to describe the prevalence and risk behaviors of human papillomavirus- HPV. The results showed that the prevalence of infection with any type of HPV, high-risk HPV and low-risk HPV among female sex workers were 26.4%, 17.7%, and 15.6%, respectively. The prevalence of HPV type 16/18 was 4.0%. The proportion of female sex workers with risk behaviors related to HPV infection is high: age of first sex under 18 years old (46.2%), not using condoms when having sex (24.3%), smoking (24.7%), drinking alcohol (66.3%). It is necessary to integrate education programs on safe sex behavior, improve education for FSWs.
