Abstract

Objectives: Describe the current situation of communication practice of nurses with patients and some related factors at some clinical departments of Bach Mai Hospital in 2018 Objectives: describe the current situation of communication practice with nursing patients and some related factors at some clinical departments of Bachmai Hospital in 2018 - 2019.


Subjects and methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study combining with quantitative and quantitative methods was carried out from September 2018 to September 2019 on 145 nurses directly caring patients in 8 clinical departments of Bachmai Hospital, Hanoi. Results and conclusions: The results of the study found a statistically significant relation between the practice of communication with the gender factor and the use of health insurance by patients. The rate of female nurses who have not reached the practice of communication was 2.4 times higher than that of men. For patients with health insurance, the rate of nurses who have not reached the practice of communication was 2.1 times higher than that of the group of patients without health insurance.


Recommendations: The basic recommendation of the research was that the hospital should promote the communication of nurses to become Bach Mai Hospital”s unique feature, oriented towards communication technology.
